Michter’s Whiskey has been named as the most admired whisky brand in the world, according to Drinks International. This is a first for an American distillery, having beaten Scotch, Japanese and Irish whisky’s to the number 1 spot.

The distillery, which is located in Kentucky, is very popular with whisky drinkers and collectors alike. Michter’s reputation improved significantly when Matt Magliocco, a family member, became the senior vice president in 2013.

The quality of their whiskey speaks for itself, as importers, distributors, and bartenders all show strong interest in their products at trade shows worldwide. People eagerly seek their age statement and toasted barrel finish series whiskeys, as well as their legacy series that includes Bomberger’s and Shenk’s.

The runner up spot and number 2 on the list went to Japanese whisky brand Yamazaki, who were the winners in 2021. In third was Ardbeg, the popular smoky whisky brand from Islay.
