Celebrated for pioneering single-vineyard Brunello with Tenuta Nuova and Cerretalto, the estate has made its classic \u003cstrong\u003e\"White Label\" (Etichetta Bianca) Brunello di Montalcino\u003c\/strong\u003e every year since 1978 — the purest expression of the house style.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe 2018 marks the wine's 40th anniversary and is bottled under a special commemorative label. It is 100% Sangiovese, drawing largely on the estate's original plots around Torrenieri, where the family first farmed. Grapes are picked by hand in the first week of October and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts for around 25 days in conical stainless steel vats, before 42 months in large oak casks and a further six months resting in bottle.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDeep ruby in the glass, the nose opens with dusty florals, exotic spice, cherry and dried strawberry, with cedar and a savoury, grilled-meat note emerging as it breathes. The palate is medium- to full-bodied and generously concentrated, with bright black cherry, plum and blackberry fruit carried by firm, finely textured tannins and fresh acidity, finishing long and savoury. Approachable now after decanting, it will continue to develop well into the 2030s.
