tomatin-manzanilla-edition-the-sherry-collection
Tomatin Manzanilla Sherry Collection Limited Edition

Tomatin has used sherry casks from Jerez for more than a century. In 2024 the Highland distillery launched The Sherry Collection, a limited-edition trio that celebrates today's sherry revival. Each edition shows how a different style of sherry butt shapes the same classic Tomatin spirit: Manzanilla, Palo Cortado and Pedro Ximénez.

The Tomatin Manzanilla Edition was distilled in 2014 and bottled at 10 years old. It spent its final two years in butts that had held Manzanilla, the pale, bone-dry sherry aged by the sea in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Manzanilla casks are rarely used in Scotch, and they bring a distinctive savoury, saline edge to Tomatin's soft, fruity house style. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and at natural colour.

The nose has real depth, with sourdough bread and salted popcorn over dried fruit and a hint of citrus. On the palate, dried fruits, chamomile tea, grapefruit and maple syrup are balanced by salted walnut. The finish is gently salty, true to the Manzanilla, with warm brown butter. A brilliant dram from Tomatin for sherry lovers, and a fascinating contrast to the richer Oloroso- and PX-matured malts most people know.

Region: Highland | Style: Single Malt Scotch Whisky | Age: 10 Years (distilled 2014) | Cask: Manzanilla sherry butt finish (2 years) | ABV: 46% | Size: 70cl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1018/9419/3492/files/TomatinManzanillaSherryCollectionLimitedEdition.png?v=1793039388
