THE MCCARTNEY SISTERS COLLABORATE WITH THE MACALLAN FOR THE LATEST HARMONY COLLECTION LAUNCH
Macallan whisky maker Steven Bremner has created two new whiskies under The Macallan Harmony collection named ‘Amber Meadow’ and ‘Green Meadow’. These whiskies were inspired by the natural beauty of the Scottish countryside, which holds special memories for the McCartney sisters.
These two whiskies aged in Sherry and bourbon barrels, with Amber Meadow being bottled at 44.2%, and Green Meadow being bottled at 40.2%. The bottles will retail at £160 each.
Macallan have been focusing on sustainability when creating their packaging of late, and the bottles and boxes for these special editions were made using materials from meadows. They also feature photos of The Macallan estate taken by Mary McCartney.
According to Bremner, “The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow offers a lot to explore. It’s a single malt that reminds you of warm meadows and mature barley fields, with a rich, citrusy finish. The natural summer evening colour comes from our exceptional barrels, which were seasoned with Sherry and Bourbon, and it reflects the rich flavour inside. When you smell it, you’ll notice fresh citrus fruits and honeysuckle, along with hints of vanilla, coconut, and ripe barley fields. When you taste it, you’ll pick up flavours of oak, lemon, melon, and classic scone with almond and green tea notes, followed by a rich and sweet finish.”
Macallan has also introduced a limited edition collection of 11 unique lifestyle items designed by Stella and Mary McCartney, called “Together: a Collection for The Macallan.” This collection includes custom glassware, a ceramic flask with a sleeve made from alternative leather, and a brass napkin weight in the shape of an acorn, which pays tribute to The Macallan’s oak casks. The complete set can be purchased for £10,000.
