Bevvy, a whisky discovery app that is based in Port Charlotte has successfully secured $1.5 million in Seed funding.
This funding round received contributions from angel investors in Scotland, existing shareholders as well as a family office based in Denver. The company plans to use these funds to strengthen its market presence and expand its user base into new regions including as the US.
Bevvy is accessible through Android and iOS, the platform’s core feature is its unique image capturing software, enabling any mobile camera to scan and identify various whisky bottles.
With a database containing over 150,000 images, Bevvy keeps track of retail and auction prices while also monitoring market sentiment. This information is utilised to provide a real-time valuation shared with its 120,000 regular active users. Upon scanning a bottle, users receive detailed profiles with distillery and bottler overviews, dynamic pricing data, and expert tasting notes.
