2022 Colchagua Cabernet Sauvignon, Montes Alpha, Colchagua Valley, Chile

Aurelio Montes is widely credited with pioneering Chile's quality revolution. He first identified the potential of Apalta in the Colchagua Valley — a then-barren landscape of granite hillsides and sandy loam and clay soils — and applied a rigorous, low-yield approach to farming that helped establish the valley as one of Chile's finest appellations. Montes achieved B-Corp certification in 2024, reflecting its long-standing commitment to sustainability.

The 2022 Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with small proportions of Syrah and Carmenère, sourced from Colchagua Valley vineyards.

The wine shows the variety's typical dark olive, paprika and tobacco leaf character, layered with blackcurrant and dark plum fruit. The palate is structured and full-bodied, with fine tannins and a warm, spice-laced finish partly shaped by ageing in French oak.
