Ardbeg Scorch Committee Release

Ardbeg is an Islay distillery known for heavily peated single malts and a strong tradition of limited Ardbeg Day and Committee releases.

Scorch was released for Ardbeg Day (independent research points to 2021) and matured in heavily charred ex-bourbon American oak casks, bottled at 51.7% ABV for this Committee edition.

Soot and smoke dominate the nose, with aniseed and patchouli alongside quenched steel and saddle soap, opening to briarwood, sage and pine with a drop of water. The palate is oily and intense, with sweet smoke, charred oak, grilled and black liquorice notes over a medicinal edge. The finish is long, tarry and smouldering. (Source: current Shopify copy.)
