Auchentoshan 18 Year Old Lowland Single Malt Scotch

Auchentoshan is a Lowland distillery on the outskirts of Glasgow, distinctive for being one of the only Scotch distilleries to triple-distil all of its whisky, producing a notably light, smooth spirit.

The 18 Year Old is matured primarily in ex-bourbon American oak casks (some retailer listings also cite a secondary Oloroso sherry oak component) for 18 years, bottled at 43% ABV.

Toffee apple, fresh tobacco leaf and green tea lead the nose, with toasted almonds and caramelised sugar beneath. The palate is exceptionally smooth, opening with sweet barley and floral freshness before zesty citrus, a peppery rumble, vanilla cream and ginger spice.
