Nc'Nean Huntress Malted Teacake

Nc’Nean is a small, organic distillery on the remote Morvern peninsula at Drimnin, on Scotland’s west coast Highlands. Powered entirely by renewables and certified net zero (scopes 1 and 2), the distillery uses 100% organic Scottish barley and bottles in 100% recycled glass, with an experimental, flavour-first approach to whisky-making.

Malted Teacake is the fifth release in Nc’Nean’s experimental Huntress series, named for the Gaelic goddess Neachneohain and dedicated to discovery and innovation. This fermentation-led expression, distilled between 2019 and 2022, uses a yeast strain more typically found in Belgian ale brewing to create malty, creamy new-make character, which the distillery’s house-style casks — 50% STR red wine, 48% bourbon and 2% Oloroso sherry — develop into a buttery, jammy whisky with a touch of minerality.
