Nyetimber 1086 Prestige Cuvee 2013

Nyetimber is the pioneer of English sparkling wine, farming estate vineyards across West Sussex, Hampshire and Kent using only the three classic Champagne varieties. 1086 is the estate's prestige cuvée, named for the year Nyetimber's manor first appears in the Domesday Book.

The 2013 vintage is a blend of 45% Chardonnay, 44% Pinot Noir and 11% Pinot Meunier, given extended lees ageing to build complexity, poise and longevity. 2013 was a temperate growing year with a fresh spring and calm summer, allowing gradual ripening and layered flavour development.

Fine pale-gold in the glass, the nose is complex and rich with red apple, peach and white rose petal. The palate is delicate yet structured, with a crystalline backbone of acidity carrying yellow pear, almond and clotted cream through to a long, refined finish.
