Craigellachie Distillery was built in 1891 on the banks of the River Fiddich in Speyside. Its distinctive worm-tub condensers give the spirit a rich, meaty, slightly sulphury new-make character that has long been prized by blenders — and which comes through beautifully in its single malt bottlings.
Distilled in 1984, this exceptionally rare 37 Year Old was matured in refill casks before a further finish in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, bottled at 46.5% ABV from a strictly limited outturn. It took first place for Best Single Malt Scotch over 25 Years Old at the 2024 International Whisky Competition. Expect roasted pineapple, tarte tatin and banana bread on the nose, with coconut oil, bright citrus and almond on the palate.
