Charles Heidsieck Champagne Charlie Cellared 2017 Gift Box 75cl

Charles Heidsieck is a Champagne house founded in 1851, renowned for the exceptional depth of its reserve wine cellars and for cuvées that favour long lees ageing over youthful freshness. Champagne Charlie is the house's prestige tribute cuvée, named for founder Charles-Camille Heidsieck and relaunched to mark the bicentennial of his birth.

This release, cellared in 2017, is a multi-vintage blend built around an extraordinary 80% matured reserve wines — some aged on lees for up to 25 years — combined with 20% base wine from the 2016 harvest, blended from 52% Chardonnay and 48% Pinot Noir under former Cellar Master Cyril Brun. It is presented in the house's gift box.

Luminous pale gold in the glass with fine, silky effervescence, the nose unfolds with roasted pineapple, grapefruit and crushed limestone, evolving into stone fruit, brioche and sweet spice. The palate combines youthful freshness with rich, satiny texture, candied citrus and passionfruit balanced by vibrant acidity and a long, saline finish.
