About this bottle

Clynelish is a renowned whisky, and this particular expression is a beautifully aged example from one of Scotland's most esteemed coastal Highland distilleries. Distilled at Clynelish on 1 March 1977, this remarkable single malt has matured for an impressive 47 years in a single refill American oak hogshead, specifically Cask #2069, before being bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for their Private Collection on 22 October 2024. With only 96 bottles produced, this release is truly a rare find for collectors and whisky enthusiasts alike.

The Clynelish distillery, located near Brora on the Sutherland coast, is adored for its signature waxy and oily texture. The nearly half-century maturation process in refill American oak has allowed the house character to shine through, resulting in a whisky that is bottled at natural cask strength, without any added colouring or chill-filtration. This process highlights the waxy richness alongside fine heather and gentle maritime notes that the distillery is famous for.
