The Lost Estate 43 Year Old Legacy Collection

House of Hazelwood is the private whisky collection of the Gordon family, owners of William Grant & Sons, opened to the public in 2022 to share decades of rare, hand-picked reserve casks. The Legacy Collection showcases aged Scotch whiskies selected to highlight unique flavour profiles, ghost distilleries and pivotal moments in Scotch whisky history.

The Lost Estate is a 43 Year Old blended grain Scotch, matured in American white oak and drawn exclusively from "ghost" grain distilleries that have long since closed — a finite, irreplaceable resource. Bottled in 2022 at 41.6% ABV, only 564 bottles were released.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Creamy and rich, with estery pear drop and bright mandarin orange.

Palate: Sweet, with wonderful depth, further fruit and a crisp, clean barley sugar character.

Finish: Strawberry jam and balsa wood.
