Togouchi 9 Year Old

Togouchi is a Japanese whisky brand from Chugoku Jozo, a company historically known for sake and shochu production, based in Hiroshima Prefecture. Its whisky is matured in a disused railway tunnel near the town of Togouchi, where naturally cool, stable temperature and humidity create distinctive ageing conditions.

The 9 Year Old blends malt and grain whisky matured for nine years within the tunnel, resulting in a vibrant, approachable style with a clean, refreshing finish characteristic of the Togouchi range.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet apricot and plum with a dusting of baking spice, lemon and orange peel.

Palate: Anise, cardamom and caramel.

Finish: Clean and refreshing.
