Nc'Nean is a small, organic distillery on Scotland's remote Morvern peninsula, located at Drimnin on the stunning west coast Highlands. The distillery is powered entirely by renewable energy sources and proudly holds a certification for being net zero (scopes 1 and 2). Committed to sustainability, Nc'Nean utilizes 100% organic Scottish barley and packages its products in 100% recycled glass, embodying an experimental, flavor-first approach to whisky-making.
The Nc'Nean Huntress Malted Teacake is the fifth release in the renowned Huntress series, named after the Gaelic goddess Neachneohain and dedicated to the spirit of discovery and innovation. This particular expression is fermentation-led, distilled over the years 2019 to 2022. Uniquely, it employs a yeast strain traditionally used in Belgian ale brewing, creating a malty and creamy new-make character. The house-style casks used, comprising 50% STR red wine casks, 48% bourbon casks, and 2% Oloroso sherry casks, enhance its development into a whisky characterized by buttery and jammy notes, with a hint of minerality.
