Whitlaw (Highland Park) 2014 Carn Mor

Càrn Mòr is an independent bottling range from Morrison Distillers, showcasing single malts at natural strength with minimal intervention — no colouring, and only light or no chill filtration — to let each distillery's character speak for itself. Where a source distillery does not permit its name on independent releases, Càrn Mòr uses a recognised trade name; Whitlaw is the established pseudonym for whisky distilled at Highland Park, on Orkney, named after the Whitlaw Hills that overlook the distillery.

This release from the Strictly Limited series was distilled in 2014 and bottled seven years later, finished using an STR cask (shaved, toasted and re-charred to rejuvenate the wood). It carries classic Orkney character, balancing sea salt with delicate peat smoke. Just 1,603 bottles were produced.
