About this bottle

Tomatin sits high in the Monadhliath foothills south of Inverness. It was founded in 1897, and by the 1970s it was the largest malt distillery in Scotland. Today it is known as the softer side of the Highlands, thanks to a gentle, fruit-led house style.

Introduced in 2015, the Cask Strength was the first cask-strength whisky in Tomatin's core range. It is matured in a classic combination of first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, then bottled at a natural 57.5% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour. It keeps Tomatin's rich, sweet character but delivers it with far more power and intensity, and it is one of the best-value cask-strength malts on the market.

Try it neat first, then add a few drops of water to open up more fruit and vanilla.

Love a cask strength whisky and this one did not dissapoint. Nice spice on it, ginger, some caramel and marzipan. Really like this one.

A lovely whisky with real depth, opening with aromas of honey, vanilla, caramel and orange peel, alongside hints of ginger biscuit and dried fruits. The palate is rich and warming with flavours of green apple, malt loaf, marzipan and baking spice, leading to a lingering finish of vanilla, fudge and gentle oak spice.
