Molinico Loco Monastrell Rosado 2024

Molinico Loco is made by the Castaño family in Yecla, Murcia, and takes its name from the windmill ('molino') that stands at the edge of the vineyards — 'loco' because it turns only on calm, still days. Familia Castaño is one of Spain's foremost champions of the native Monastrell grape.

The 2024 Rosado is sourced from high-altitude vineyards at 500 metres, grown on sandy limestone soils, hand-harvested and vinified in stainless steel with a short maceration to preserve its pale pink hue and purity of fruit.

Bright aromas of redcurrant, wild strawberry and rose petal lead a smooth, juicy palate of ripe cherry, watermelon and a whisper of citrus zest, finishing clean and mineral with crisp acidity. Perfect chilled as an aperitif or with seafood, grilled chicken or Mediterranean tapas.
