Single Malt Whisky
Single malt whisky is made at one distillery from malted barley alone, so it shows that distillery's character: its water, stills and choice of casks. Our range covers hundreds of single malts, from everyday favourites to rare single casks.
Shop by region: Speyside, Highland, Islay and the Islands in Scotland, or look further afield to Japanese whisky and English whisky. Popular distilleries include Macallan, Glenfarclas and Laphroaig, and you can find richer styles in our sherry cask whisky edit.
Rated 4.9/5 on Trustpilot from 400+ reviews. Free next-day UK delivery on orders over £100, trade pricing for bars, restaurants and retailers, and a sourcing service if the bottle you want isn't listed.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between single malt, single cask and blended malt?
Single malt is from one distillery, usually blended from many casks. Single cask whisky comes from just one cask, so every bottling is unique and limited. Blended malt combines single malts from several distilleries, with no grain whisky.
What does the age statement mean?
It's the age of the youngest whisky in the bottle. A 12 year old single malt may contain older whisky too, but nothing younger than 12 years.
Is a more expensive single malt always better?
Not always. Price reflects age, rarity and demand as much as quality. Many of our favourite drams are under £75, which you can browse in our under £75 collection.
Which single malt makes a good gift?
For most whisky lovers, a well-known 12 or 18 year old from Speyside or the Highlands is a safe and appreciated choice. Our team is happy to recommend something if you tell us the recipient's taste.
