Chateau Grand-Puy Ducasse 2016

Château Grand-Puy Ducasse is a classified Fifth Growth (1855) estate in Pauillac, producing wines that combine the finesse and structure characteristic of the appellation's pedigree.

The 2016 vintage — from an exceptional Bordeaux year — is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot.

The bouquet is layered and expressive, offering ripe blackcurrant, cigar box, pencil lead and violets. The palate is elegant and firm, with finely grained tannins supporting blackberry, dark cherry, graphite and toasted oak, and an underlying savoury complexity of tobacco and crushed stone. The finish is long and focused, with excellent tension and balance.
