Poggio al Tesoro 2014 ‘Solosole’ Vermentino

Poggio al Tesoro is a Bolgheri estate belonging to the Allegrini family, farming coastal Tuscan vineyards renowned for both Bordeaux-variety reds and increasingly for expressive whites made from Vermentino.

Solosole is a single-varietal Vermentino from Bolgheri DOC, fermented and aged with extended lees contact to build texture and complexity; this 2014 release has had over a decade of bottle age.

Now fully mature, expect a saline, mineral-driven wine with citrus and Mediterranean herb character, a textured mid-palate from its lees ageing, and a long, savoury finish.
