The Macallan has distilled single malt Scotch whisky at its Speyside estate since 1824, celebrated for its pioneering use of sherry-seasoned oak and meticulous spirit selection. The Harmony Collection pairs the whisky-making team's expertise with world-class artisans from other fields, exploring flavour through unexpected collaborations.
Harmony Collection No. 5, created with tea specialists JING Tea, draws its inspiration from Phoenix Honey Orchid — a celebrated oolong tea from the Phoenix Mountain range of Guangdong, China, known for its dessert-wine aromas and vibrant, exotic fruit notes. To echo the tea's layered character, the whisky was matured predominantly in sherry-seasoned American oak casks for lush vanilla, honey and soft spice, balanced with sherry-seasoned European oak and a subtle inclusion of ex-bourbon casks. In keeping with the collection's sustainable ethos, the presentation box and labels repurpose discarded waste tea leaves.
