Aberlour 33 Year Old 1989 Cask #3651

Aberlour is a Speyside distillery celebrated for its sherried expressions, though long-aged single-cask releases such as this one are rare in the market.

Drawn from a single bourbon hogshead (cask #3651) filled in 1989, this whisky matured for 33 years before being independently bottled in 2023 (by bottler 'Limited'/LTDW) in a run of just 192 bottles, at 42.4% ABV, non-chill filtered with no added colour.

Orange zest, poached plums, ripe pears and salted caramel lead the nose; the palate offers white fruits, gentle vanilla, warming spice and pepper over subtle malt; the finish is medium in length, softly drying with blood-orange citrus. (Source: independent bottler / retailer tasting notes.)
