Glenrothes 18 Year Old

The Glenrothes distillery has produced rich, fruit-driven Speyside single malt since 1879, built around a house style shaped almost entirely by first-fill and refill sherry casks. Rather than relying on age statements alone, Glenrothes has long championed vintage and cask character as the true measure of its whisky.

Glenrothes 18 Year Old is matured exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak casks, with a high proportion of first-fill wood, allowing eighteen years of slow evolution to build a richly rounded, deeply flavoured single malt.

Aroma: ripe pear and sweet vanilla pod, tempered by aromatic orange oil, invigorating almond and a hint of dried ginger spice. Taste: rich and deep, alive with sweet ginger, pear and rose water, aromatic fruit and light oak creating gentle spice against creamy vanilla. Finish: divine sweetness balanced with spice and a gently peppery undertone.

Glenrothes 18 Year Old was named third in Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Spirits of 2020, scoring 98 points.
