Highland Park distils on the Orkney island of Kirkwall, the northernmost distillery in Scotland, where wind-scoured heather peat and slow, cold maturation combine to produce the house's signature "sweet-smoky" style. Balanced honeyed sweetness, gentle aromatic peat and rich sherried oak have made Highland Park one of the most consistently decorated distilleries in Scotch whisky.
Highland Park 18 Year Old is deep, intensely fruity and effortlessly smooth, carrying a natural glowing amber colour drawn straight from the cask. A multi-layered malt built from years of careful sherry-cask maturation, it remains one of the distillery's most celebrated core expressions.
The nose offers rich, fruity, caramelised sweetness, unfolding on the palate into finely balanced orange zest, dark chocolate and aromatic smoke from Orkney's heathered peat. The finish is lingering, sweet and spicy, with slightly nutty notes.
Highland Park 18 Year Old has been named "Best Spirit in the World" three times by F. Paul Pacult's Spirit Journal, most recently in 2005, and won Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2005.
