Sarget de Gruaud-Larose is the second wine of Château Gruaud-Larose, a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) estate in Saint-Julien, crafted to offer the same pedigree as the Grand Vin with greater accessibility while young.
The 2019 vintage is a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend in keeping with the estate's Saint-Julien style, benefiting from a warm growing season that delivered ripe, polished fruit.
Dark ruby in colour, with cassis, black cherry and red berries alongside tobacco leaf, cedar and dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, balancing crunchy red fruit freshness with savoury black pepper and wet earth, closing with refined, powdery tannins and a clean, mineral finish.
