Unlike whiskies that are simply finished in Mizunara, this expression undergoes complete ageing in these elusive barrels—an ambitious feat requiring decades of expertise, rigorous cask management, and time-honoured craftsmanship.
Mizunara oak is prized for the complex, often spiritual character it imparts to whisky—think notes of incense, sandalwood, and Eastern spices. But its scarcity and technical difficulty mean few whiskies ever see full maturation in this wood. This 18 Year Old release is one of those rare exceptions.
