Gabriëlskloof farms cool-climate vineyards in Walker Bay on South Africa's Cape South Coast, exposed to cooling Atlantic breezes that help preserve elegance and structure in its red blends.

The Blend is a Bordeaux-style red led by Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec in support. 2021 was a relatively mild, slow-ripening vintage, ideal for preserving elegance in a structured red like this one.

It opens with an enticing bouquet of blackcurrant, dark chocolate and a touch of nutmeg. The palate is well-structured, with firm, fine-grained tannins and vivid acidity that highlight the ripe fruit and subtle spice, while notes of cedar and graphite add complexity through to a long, satisfying finish with excellent ageing potential.
