Château Macquin is a Right Bank Bordeaux estate in Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion, producing wines that regularly draw comparisons to Saint-Émilion Grand Crus at a fraction of the price.

The 2022 vintage is a blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Bordeaux growing season was hot and dry throughout, with early budbreak followed by April frosts, even flowering and fruit set, and an early harvest that preserved the health of the vines despite the lack of water.

Deep ruby red, the wine shows intense aromas of ripe raspberry and blackcurrant with spicy cinnamon and pepper. The full-bodied palate delivers concentrated cassis, raspberry and tobacco flavours with lifted acidity and silky tannins on a long, persistent finish.
