2023 Roodekrantz 1983 Chenin Blanc

Roodekrantz is a boutique South African producer specialising in artisanal, site-specific wines from old bush vines, sourced predominantly from the Swartland region.

The '1983' Chenin Blanc takes its name from the year the dry-farmed bush vines were planted on granite soils. The 2023 vintage is hand-picked in the early morning at optimal ripeness, fermented 90% in stainless steel and 10% in French oak, with extended lees contact for three months.

Pale straw in colour with green hues, it offers aromas of citrus zest, stone fruits and a touch of fynbos. The palate is crisp and lively, with flavours of quince, white peach and subtle minerality, balanced acidity and a clean, refreshing finish.
