Benromach Virgin Oak Kiln Dried 2012

Benromach, Speyside's smallest working distillery in Forres, is known for its 'Contrasts' series, which explores how different cask and production variables shape the final spirit.

Distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2023, this limited release was matured for around a decade in virgin oak casks that were air-dried for two years before being kiln-dried to accelerate seasoning - a contrast to the slower air-dried-only process used for its sister release. Bottled at 46% ABV, un-chill filtered.

Nose: sweet malted biscuit, waxy lemon and toffee apple. Palate: creamy and fruity, with barley sugar and tropical fruit such as pineapple. Finish: subtle smoke and menthol linger.
