Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old Cask Strength 2025 Edition

Bunnahabhain distillery sits on the remote north-eastern shore of Islay, drawing on clear spring water and the island's maritime climate. Unlike most of its Islay neighbours, Bunnahabhain's core style is unpeated, allowing sherry cask influence and coastal character to shine through — a quieter, more contemplative take on Islay whisky.

The 2025 Edition of the 12 Year Old Cask Strength is created from a careful combination of first, second and refill Oloroso sherry casks, with Master Blender Julieann Fernandez selecting predominantly second-fill Oloroso casks for 2025, lending subtle sherry influence without overwhelming the distillate. Matured for 12 years and bottled non-chill filtered, natural colour, at full cask strength of 56.4% ABV.

Nose: golden raisins and apricots with toasted nuts and a light floral note.

Palate: malty sweetness, soft oak and dried fruit with sultanas, hazelnuts and gentle spice.

Finish: lingering oak spice and light tobacco, with a touch of sea salt and cocoa powder.
