Cawdor Springs 7 Year Old 2015 20cl

Cawdor Springs is a pseudonym used by independent bottler GreatDrams for single malt sourced from a royally connected Highland distillery (Royal Brackla), released outside the distillery's own branding. The spirit is well known for how gracefully it takes on wine cask finishes.

This single malt was distilled in October 2015 and filled into a Château Margaux wine barrique, one of Bordeaux's most celebrated estates, where it matured for close to eight years before being bottled as a 7 Year Old at 48.2% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural colour. It is offered here in a 20cl format.

The nose shows orange zest, dark chocolate, red berries, tinned apricot and vanilla. The palate brings caramelised nuts, cinnamon, chocolate raisins, cranberries and toasted marzipan, finishing with candied orange peel and gingerbread spice.
