Domaine de Montille is one of Burgundy's most respected grower-producers. It is based in Volnay and farms certified organic and biodynamic vineyards across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. The Domaine de Montille Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru 2021 is a wine that embodies the excellence of Chardonnay from one of the finest sites in the world. Chevalier-Montrachet is a Grand Cru at the top of the famous Montrachet hill in Puligny-Montrachet, widely known for producing exquisite wines.

In 2021, severe spring frosts significantly affected yield, resulting in only a single 600-litre barrel of this exceptional wine, making it exceptionally rare. The specific area of the vineyard owned by Domaine de Montille here is just 0.23 hectares, emphasizing the scarcity and unique quality of this production. After light settling, the must was fermented in both 228 and 600-litre barrels, 5–20% of which were new and primarily constructed from lightly toasted Allier oak. Following fermentation, the wine spent approximately a year aging in barrel before transferring to stainless steel, preserving its freshness and minerality.

The Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru 2021 exhibits a stunning full lemon-yellow color.
