The 2021 vintage of Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru is particularly notable due to the impact of frost, resulting in a selective harvest where two-thirds of the grapes were fermented as whole clusters. After fermentation, the wine undergoes aging in high-quality French oak barrels, with a significant portion being new. Malolactic fermentation completed only in August 2022, allowing for a meticulous development of flavors as the wine rested on its lees.

This vintage is characterized by a mineral backbone and elegant poise, with layers of smoky intensity and woodsy spice that complement the rich black fruit, concentrated dark cherries, and plums. The tannins are smooth and integrated, while the fine acidity elevates the wine's complexity. The La Tâche-like character of this cuvée enhances its desirability among wine connoisseurs.
