Highland Park 21 Year Old 2023 Release

Highland Park distils on the Orkney island of Kirkwall, the northernmost distillery in Scotland, where wind-scoured heather peat and slow, cold maturation combine to produce the house's signature "sweet-smoky" style. Balanced honeyed sweetness, gentle aromatic peat and rich sherried oak have made Highland Park one of the most consistently decorated distilleries in Scotch whisky.

The 2023 release of Highland Park 21 Year Old is a rare masterclass in balance, representing the pinnacle of the distillery's signature style. Crafted from around 36 casks including ex-bourbon hogsheads, first-fill European and American oak sherry-seasoned casks and ex-Rioja wine casks, it offers extraordinary depth.

The nose leads with tropical fruit, toasted almonds, nutmeg and floral peat smoke, unfolding into a palate of lemon zest, fenugreek, caramelised apple with honey and cinnamon, and cedar-smoked paprika. The finish is long, complex and warming, with lingering sweet smoke, dried fruit and gentle spice.
