Lochlea is an independent, family-run farm distillery in the Lowlands of Ayrshire, founded in 2018 by Neil McGeoch on the farm where the poet Robert Burns once lived and worked. Barley for the whisky is grown on the surrounding 222-acre farm, and Production Director John Campbell (formerly of Laphroaig) has built a house style rooted in Lochlea's own fruit, cereal and grass character, with releases tied to the working farming calendar.

Cask Strength Batch 2 is the second in Lochlea's annual limited-edition cask strength series, bottled straight from the cask without water - like sampling directly from the warehouse. For this batch, John Campbell selected a combination of Oloroso sherry, STR and PX casks that work particularly well at higher strength, amplifying Lochlea's signature fruit, nut and cereal character.

Nose: Apples, peach syrup and marmalade.
Palate: Wild lavender and rose petals.
Finish: Long, with black pepper and more of Lochlea's signature fruit.

Region: Lowland  |  Style: Single Malt  |  Size: 700ml  |  Cask: Oloroso Sherry - STR - PX (Cask Strength)
