Moulin Rouge Cru Bourgeois 2017

Château du Moulin Rouge is a well-regarded Cru Bourgeois estate in Cussac-Fort-Médoc, in the Haut-Médoc, producing wines with classic Left Bank structure and generosity.

The 2017 vintage is a blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Generous aromas of blackcurrant, plum and subtle cedar lead into a palate where ripe dark fruits mingle with tobacco, spice and a hint of graphite, supported by fine-grained tannins. The finish is long, savoury and poised, reflecting both the pedigree of Cru Bourgeois classification and the character of the 2017 vintage.

James Suckling: 92 points — "Warm berry-pastry aromas with mulberries and boysenberries, too. The palate has a long, supple and juicy feel with a wealth of rich berries. Plenty to offer here, this has a plush array of ripe dark fruit, driving the palate long and true."
