Pol Roger Blanc de Blancs 2015

Pol Roger is one of the last great family-owned Champagne houses, based in Épernay, and was famously Winston Churchill's favourite Champagne. Its Blanc de Blancs bottling is made only in strong Chardonnay years.

The 2015 Brut Blanc de Blancs is 100% Chardonnay, selected exclusively from the Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs — Oiry, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger — and aged for six years in Pol Roger's cellars before release.

Pale gold with green tints, the nose is expressive and powerful, blending lemon zest and pastry with mocha, cocoa, confectionery and orange zest. The palate is sleek and minerally, with Asian pear, lemon preserve, salted almond and white blossom over a fleshy core of fruit and a precise, chalky finish.
