Only 344 decanters exist worldwide. Released to mark The Macallan's 200th anniversary, Tales of The Macallan Volume II pays tribute to founder Alexander Reid, whose exacting standards still shape the distillery today.
The whisky itself is remarkable: distilled in 1949 and bottled in 2022, representing more than seven decades of maturation, bottled at 44.8% ABV.
The presentation is unlike anything else in the whisky world — a bespoke crystal decanter by Lalique, concealed within an 800-page hand-bound almanac created by legendary London bookbinders Shepherds, Sangorski & Sutcliffe and Zaehnsdorf, illustrated throughout by Andrew Davidson. This is as much a collectible art object as it is a whisky.
