About Glenfarclas
Glenfarclas sits at the foot of Ben Rinnes in Ballindalloch, Speyside. The Grant family has owned and run it since 1865, which makes it one of the very few Scotch distilleries still in independent family hands.
That independence shows in the whisky. Glenfarclas is famous for maturing almost everything in Oloroso sherry casks, and its pot stills are among the largest in Speyside. The house style is rich, full-bodied and unashamedly sherried. At 30 years old, that style reaches its peak.

Tasting notes
Nose: Gingerbread and glacé cherries come first, then candied orange peel, sherry-soaked raisins and figs. Cloves and a little polished leather sit underneath.
Palate: Rich and sweet, with brown sugar, toffee and dark fruit cake. Cinnamon, allspice and dark chocolate build, framed by old oak that never dominates.
Finish: Long and warming, with lingering cinnamon, clove and a hint of anise.
With water: A few drops lift the orange and hazelnut notes. At 43% it drinks beautifully neat, so add water sparingly.
