Gabriëlskloof 2021 Amphora Sauvignon Blanc

Gabriëlskloof farms in the Bot River ward of Walker Bay, and this Amphora bottling is one of its most distinctive wines — pure Sauvignon Blanc fermented and aged for eight months in clay amphora rather than steel or oak.

The 2021 vintage was produced in a tiny quantity of around 3,300 bottles, prioritising depth, texture and balance over overt aromatics.

Citrus, stone fruit and herbal notes are layered with a subtle savoury edge, while the palate shows real structure and mineral tension — a thoughtful, food-focused style for adventurous drinkers.

Wine Spectator rated the 2021 vintage 90 points.
