A magnificent sherry-based vermouth from the legendary Bodegas Valdespino, a distinguished house with origins tracing back to 1264 in Jerez. This exceptional aperitif is now formally part of The Macallan family portfolio , following a partnership to secure the finest sherry expertise and cask supply for the renowned Single Malt Scotch.
Crafted using authentic early 20th-century recipes, the Origen is a masterful blend of very old Oloroso and Moscatel wines. This rich base is meticulously aromatised with a complex selection of dried fruits and botanicals, including bright Seville orange, warming nutmeg, and the classic bitter notes of cinchona bark and gentian.
The final blend is aged in casks that previously matured Valdespino’s own Oloroso sherry, imbuing it with exceptional depth and a velvety, layered character. Its rich, sherry-driven profile and unmatched quality make it the definitive choice for elevated cocktail making, earning its place as the preferred mixer for The Macallan’s own single malts.
