Bowmore 1971 51Yo 45.3% 700ml
An extraordinarily rare release from one of Scotland’s most revered distilleries, Bowmore 1971 51 Year Old represents more than half a century of patient maturation and craftsmanship. Distilled in 1971 and aged for 51 years in carefully selected casks, this exceptional single malt captures a moment in Bowmore’s history with remarkable depth, complexity and elegance.
The nose is beautifully layered and contemplative, opening with aromas of tropical fruit, preserved citrus and ripe orchard fruit, followed by delicate notes of honeycomb, polished oak, sea salt and soft peat smoke. As it evolves in the glass, deeper nuances of vanilla, antique leather, dark chocolate and gentle spice emerge.
On the palate, the whisky is remarkably refined for its age, balancing concentration with freshness. Waves of mango, candied orange and dried apricot are framed by subtle maritime character, toasted nuts and finely integrated oak. The signature Bowmore smoke remains delicate and sophisticated, leading into an exceptionally long, complex finish marked by mineral precision and lingering coastal salinity.
Presented at 45.3% ABV and bottled in extremely limited quantities, this is a collector’s whisky and a rare opportunity to experience one of Bowmore’s oldest and most distinguished vintages.
