Bowmore is Islay's oldest licensed distillery, founded in 1779, renowned for maturing its spirit in the legendary No.1 Vaults — the oldest whisky warehouse in Scotland. This coastal ageing gives Bowmore its signature maritime character, layered with gentle Islay peat smoke.

An extraordinarily rare release, the Bowmore 1971 51 Year Old was distilled in 1971 and matured for 51 years in a combination of Sherry-seasoned European oak casks and Oloroso Sherry butts. Bottled at 45.3% ABV in extremely limited quantities of 351 bottles worldwide, it represents one of the oldest and most distinguished vintages ever released by the distillery.

Nose: beautifully layered, opening with tropical fruit, preserved citrus and ripe orchard fruit, followed by honeycomb, polished oak, sea salt and soft peat smoke, evolving toward vanilla, antique leather, dark chocolate and gentle spice.

Palate: remarkably refined for its age, balancing concentration with freshness — mango, candied orange and dried apricot framed by subtle maritime character, toasted nuts and finely integrated oak.

Finish: exceptionally long and complex, marked by mineral precision and lingering coastal salinity.
